Yes, I just posted yesterday, what of it.

Today I posted a fic I wrote while in surgery recovery - absolutely not sure if it's any good, but whatever. Shorter stuff, but anything counts.

892,551/1,000,000. 107,449 remaining.

888,790/1,000,000. 111,210 remaining.

I have a lot of original fiction to complete before I can really get down to writing all of my fic obligations - I'm not even going to be touching my fic wordcount within the next few weeks - but I am absolutely set on completing my obligations from equality_auction by the end of the year, even if I have to relinquish Triple Crown as an option. The problem with not doing Triple Crown is that I'm going to be around 20k short of the 1mil goal by the end of the year (equivalent to minimum word count of the first two TC events) without it, and I'd have to come up with projects within the year to do to cover it.

The more I think about it, the more I think I should probably drop Triple Crown as an option, but I've already put a lot of work into planning an FIAB project, so I feel like it's a damn waste not to use it. I should be able to complete that FIAB project in a timely fashion, I think, and technically Heart Attack is only a two week delay for the four fics remaining after that point on my schedule. If I don't knock out the six EA fics by the time Heart Attack rolls around, I'll drop TC and just get down to work on what remains. That way I can be finished with my obligations and grab another project to work on before the year ends.

I'll probably throw up a post (private or not, IDK) of ideas for projects that'll help me hit the million mark soon. It'll be a nice exercise and prep for the worst case scenario.

Very slight IRL wrinkle might get in the way. This might get pushed off to some other date, but as of now I'm keeping January 1 on my horizon. Cross your fingers, nonexistent blog audience.

Not that I expect much traffic here, but it does seem as though, against every indication I remembered, that people are acknowledging Dreamwidth exists, and I have things to talk about, so I thought I might as well start posting again, after quite some time.

I set a goal: by January 1, 2021, I will have over 1 million words registered on AO3. The current count is 858,904, leaving me with a little over 141,000 left to write in five months. I initially was going to try to break 200 fics in that time as well, but that would require 15 more fics than I currently have planned, and that seems like it might be pushing it.

The good (?) news is that current obligations I have (such as... several fics from equality_auction) will bring me up to around 120,000 by October 31, if all goes well. Of course, this all sounds very exhausting. I spent three hours today just writing outlines for everything I've got planned. Tomorrow's the day I dig in and start plowing through the first four in line.

On another note, I have met some truly wonderful people on Discord! I've never felt quite so welcome in fandom as I have on Discord, despite what you'll hear about Discord drama. I think you just need to find spots where people understand you and relate to you. I've tried and left a few servers already, but I've found a few places I'll call home. The exchange circuit is also treating me fairly well, compared to five years or so ago when I left it.

I'm working on having a fannish twitter, though I keep forgetting to keep it open/post on it; I'm hoping that'll change with updates I'll have for my "to a million challenge", as I'm calling it. It's at [profile] thinkatoryish on Twitter.

So. I'll keep updating, for my own sake. Should be a good time.

Terry Pratchett's passed away at the age of 66 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's and heart disease.

Let's commemorate his passing and his life as we knew him. Let's write and move and make each other grin at least fractionally as much he did.

This is your classic prompt fest for any of Pratchett's works. Tiffany Aching, Johnny Maxwell, as well as Discworld, are all welcome.

Post a prompt (put the character/pairing in the subject line, if you like) and fill prompts! Try to stay with the spirit of the prompt when you fill! No jerkery. :( Today is sad enough already.

(We get over three pages, then I'll start collecting prompts, fyi.)
